Advanced MicroSensors

Founded in April 1999, Advanced MicroSensors is a privately-held company. The company began as a management and employee buyout of what was formerly known as the Quantum and Matsushita Kotobuki (MKQC) joint venture for magnetic thin film recording heads. Currently we have 35 employees, including scientists, engineers, and technicians.

AMS’ roots are in the design and manufacture of integrated thin film inductive write flux-sensing read magneto-resistive (MR) and giant magneto-resistive (GMR) thin film magnetic recording heads. From this background, AMS is now a specialty MEMS and magnetic thin film device foundry that provides custom MEMS and magnetic thin film device production capabilities. We also manufacture custom devices for recording and sensing and work with large and small companies.

The company is located outside of Boston in Massachusetts' high-tech corridor, in close proximity to a broad spectrum of educational, cultural and recreational outlets. We are an equal-opportunity employer offering competitive benefits.
