Call for Speakers:
Cisco predicts that we are on track to hit 25 to 50 billion connected devices by 2020. Morgan Stanley expects 75 billion. To arrive at even the most conservative of these estimates, we need end-to-end solutions with smart MEMS and sensors that are interoperable and standardized, use low power, and are secure. MEMS and sensor technologies have enabled great advances in many applications, initially with pressure sensors in medical and automotive applications and now with a combo accelerometer-gyro-magnetometer in the wearable you likely have on your wrist. MEMS and sensors are the pathway and the bedrock of getting to a smart and inter-connected world.
Organized and hosted by the MEMS & Sensors Industry Group, the trade association focused on advancing MEMS and sensors across global markets, this one-day pre-conference symposium will examine how to extract value from the MEMS and sensors supply chain. As the commoditization of MEMS and sensors has become ever more present, companies are positioning themselves as both hardware and software providers, whereby they are not just selling chips, but also the algorithms and sensor fusion to simplify system integration, maximize value, and remain competitive.
In this symposium, you will gain a clear understanding of the MEMS and sensors industries’ unique perspectives on the current landscape and detailed insight into new and emerging applications.
We are seeking speakers to address the following topics:
Challenges and opportunities for success with MEMS and sensors in
- How applications are feeding into and enabling smart systems and smart Internet of Things (IoT)
- Factors driving and enabling adoption and integration of MEMS and sensors, including:
- improved battery life
- smaller form factors
- flexible printed electronics
- recent innovations in MEMS/sensors
- Integration issues (test, package, back-end issues that affect production and time to market)
All selected speakers will receive complimentary admission to Sensors Expo and the MEMS & Sensors Industry Group pre-conference symposium. No other compensation will be provided. Accepted speakers will be required to sign and submit a speaker agreement, provide a bio and headshot by March 1 and provide an electronic copy of their presentation by June 1, 2016. All selected speakers understand by submitting that their final presentation will be available in PDF format to both attendees of the pre-conference and to MSIG members in the MSIG Resource Library. Preference will be given to abstracts that clearly outline a path forward and articulate a call-to-action.
Thank you for considering a speaking role. We look forward to receiving your abstract!
