Keynotes Announced for MEMS Executive Congress 2009

MEMS Industry Group is very pleased to announce Dr. Mauro Ferrari and Dr. Shoichi Narahashi as keynote speakers for MEMS Executive Congress 2009, to be held November 4-6, 2009 in Sonoma, CA.

 

Dr. Mauro Ferrari

Dr Ferrari is a professor and director of the Division of NanoMedicine at the University of Texas Department of Biomedical Engineering.

He is internationally recognized as a leading authority in the use of biomedical nanotechnology in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

With a career research portfolio in excess of $50 million, his current research program includes projects funded by the NSF, NIH, the Department of Defense, NASA, the Department of Energy, and the State of Texas, among others.

Dr. Mauro Ferrari 

 He has published about 200 refereed journal articles and book chapters, has edited 7 volumes, and is series editor for Springer’s Fundamental Biomedical Technologies. Additionally, Dr. Ferrari has to date been awarded about 30 U.S. and international patents, with many more currently pending.

Aside from his academic career, Dr. Ferrari has also been an active entrepreneur. He has founded several companies including NanoMedical Systems (NMS) and Leonardo Biosystems, now part of Arrowhead Research Corporation (ARWR). He currently serves on the board of directors of NMS and Leonardo Biosystems, and is the director of scientific affairs for ARWR.

 

Dr. Shoichi Narahashi

Dr. Shoichi Narahashi currently serves as Executive Research Engineer at NTT DOCOMO Research Laboratories. 

In his work at NTT DOCOMO he is leading research in the areas of RF circuit technologies for future mobile communication systems such as multi-band RF devices with RF-MEMS, highly-efficient power amplifiers, non-linear distortion compensation schemes and cryogenic receiver front-end.

Dr. Shoichi Narahashi

Narahashi has spent the last 17 years of his career with NTT DOCOMO and before that worked for its parent company, NTT. He holds an ME in Electronics and a PhD in Media and Network Technologies.

This site is a one-stop source for all information regarding the Congress, including a preliminary agenda, panel information, and confirmed speakers as they become available. Attendees can also register for the Congress online.
