June 8-10, Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois
MIG staff will be walking the floor to meet and engage with attendees at Sensors Expo 2009, North America’s only industry event dedicated exclusively to sensors and sensor-integrated systems.
If you’re not very familiar with MIG, this is a great way to learn more about our recent and upcoming activities and our mission of promoting the commercialization of MEMS.
June 21 - 25, Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Denver, Colorado
MIG will be at this conference featuring four days of presentations and posters highlighting the latest and most technically advanced work in mechanical, optical, chemical, and biological devices and systems using micro- and nano-technology. Be sure to stop and say hello to Clifford Fung, MIG's Senior Technical Advisor, who will be in attendance at the event.
July 13 -16, San Francisco, California
MIG staff will be in attendance during SEMICON West week at a number of events:
MIG’s annual Member Cocktail Party – Each year MIG hosts a cocktail party for members to unwind and have fun with their peers after a long day in the exhibition hall. If you’re a MIG member and have not received an invitation, please email info@memsindustrgroup.org.
MEMS Movie Release – Join MIG at the SEMI Theatre, Moscone North, on Wednesday, July 15 from 1:00 – 1:55 pm to mark the world premiere of MEMS: Making Micromachines. Funded by the National Science Foundation, MEMS: Making Micromachines takes audiences on a comprehensive journey through the MEMS fabrication process. MEMS Industry Group served as an advisor to the filmmaker and several MIG members, including Robert Bosch, Texas Instruments, and Freescale Semiconductor, are featured in the film.
Fab Owners Association Q3 Meeting – As part of MIG’s new partnership with the Fab Owners Associations (www.waferfabs.org), Karen Lightman, managing director of MEMS Industry Group, will present an overview of MIG and announce a 10% discount on MIG membership for current FOA members. FOA’s Q3 meeting will be July 16 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. For venue and more information, see www.waferfabs.org.
July 29-30, Tokyo, Japan
Karen Lightman will represent MIG at this year’s Exhibition MEMS/Micromachine in order to build closer ties between MIG members and Japanese MEMS companies. In addition to walking the floor, she will deliver a presentation at the 15th International Micromachine Nanotech Symposium on worldwide growth opportunities for MEMS from a US perspective. The Symposium will be Wednesday, July 29 in conjunction with the Exhibition MEMS/Micromachine.
Karen looks forward to meeting members of the Japanese MEMS community and opening the door to increased collaboration with MIG’s membership.
