CORE Standards Working Group

The mission of MSIG Core Standards Working Group is to develop a series of technical specifications, industry standards, and best practices for MEMS and sensor devices and platforms. The ultimate aim is to advance the use and expansion of MEMS and sensors worldwide.

In September 2014, MSIG’s first standard was officially recognized by the IEEE Standards Association. Known as IEEE 2700 Standard for Sensor Performance Parameter Definition, the standard is a common framework for sensor performance specification terminology, units, conditions and limits is provided. Specifically, the accelerometer, magnetometer, gyrometer/gyroscope, barometer/pressure sensors, hygrometer/humidity sensors, temperature sensors, ambient light sensors, and proximity sensors are discussed.

Participating MSIG Member Companies

  • Bosch
  • Hillcrest Labs
  • IEEE
  • Intel
  • Kionix
  • NIST
  • NXP Semiconductors
  • PNI Sensor
  • Qualcomm
  • STMicroelectronics

The Standards Working Group meets every other week by teleconference.
